Leonardo is a world leader in design, development and production of Airborne Lasers and Directed Infra-Red Countermeasures (DIRCM). Working within the Leonardo Airborne and Space Systems division based at the Edinburgh site, the successful candidate will undertake design and development activities on EO systems across the product range.

Successful candidates will receive targeted training; developing all the engineering skills and necessary domain knowledge required to achieve technical excellence and be successful Systems Engineers.  You will also join other Leonardo graduates on the two year programme which will enhance your wider business skills and knowledge.

Key Responsibility Areas

Systems Engineers within support a wide range of tasks across multiple projects/products. Core activities for our Systems Engineers include:

  • Requirements capture, design documentation, verification and validation
  • Algorithm design and test for signal processing, tracking, control & image processing
  • Performance modelling
  • Data analysis; end-to-end system analysis using synthetic and 'real world' data
  • Applied research; from product improvements to blue-sky thinking

 

 

Skills, Qualifications & Knowledge Required

  • All our roles require predicted minimum of an upper second class honours degree in a relevant discipline i.e Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Aviation/Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering, Physics or Mathematics or a higher degree such as a MEng, MSc. or PhD.
  • You must be able to satisfy the necessary security clearance for the role applied for and meet a minimum of 5 years permanent residency in the UK.
