Job Description

As Graduate Project Manager, you will:

  • Manage and deliver assigned projects Detectors infra-red projects for new and existing products to time, cost, quality and customer satisfaction under the guidance of the Programme Manager. 
  • Work with the Programme Manager and project teams to clarify and document business requirements in order to ensure project plans are comprehensive, realistic and in line with Detectors business objectives.
  • Communicate project plans and progress across the business in order to ensure all stakeholders are briefed and up to date.
  • Summarise salient planning and project progress in order to provide advice and make recommendations for consideration by the senior levels within organisation.
  • Learn to lead and develop a project team, ensuring work is resourced and allocated effectively by coordinating with Functional Leads to satisfy project requirements while following business processes.
  • Implement the Business' Life Cycle Management Process in your assigned projects

Key Responsibility Areas

  • All responsibilities will be supported by the Programme Manager
  • Responsible for successful delivery (on time, to cost & quality) of all assigned projects across the whole life cycle including preparation, review and management of project plans, whilst mitigating risk, to ensure the business meets targets & objectives.
  • Maximise the profitability of the assigned projects.
  • Management of project risks and opportunities
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships, with both internal and external stakeholders, in order to influence project activities through effective communication.
  • Lead the project teams effectively
  • Reporting on project progress to Senior Management

 

 

Skills, Qualifications & Knowledge Required

  • All our roles require predicted minimum of an upper second class honours degree in a relevant discipline. Engineering or science degree or a higher degree such as a MEng, MSc. or PhD. 
  • You must be able to satisfy the necessary security clearance for the role applied for and meet a minimum of 5 years permanent residency in the UK.
  • Excellent organisation skills
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Flexibility including ability and willingness to travel and visit customer sites (occasional travel in UK and abroad).
  • Fully conversant with current IT/computer software packages (i.e. word, excel, PowerPoint).

Desirable:

  • Background in a technical development or manufacturing environment would be an advantage.
  • SAP Experience
