Graduate Electronics Hardware Engineers will be given the opportunity to work in integrated product teams (IPT) developing state-of-the-art radar and electro-optic products.

Graduate engineers in general will report to a senior engineer who will provide them with day to day guidance and on the job training. They will be introduced to hardware development processes and utilising state-of-the-art methods, technology and tools.

Graduate engineers are encouraged to gain experience of all aspects of the development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, implementation, integration, applied research and test.

Graduates applying for this position should expect to focus in one or more of the Digital disciplines with in Electronics Hardware Engineering. (ie High speed digital design & Firmware design )

Throughout the development process, an understanding of the product domain becomes a key element of the learning process, and requires close liaison with engineers from other disciplines, such as Systems, Software and Mechanical. Opportunities may also arise to interface with customers and end users. Electronic Hardware is fundamental to all our products and as such experience in Hardware Engineering provides the support and environment necessary for learning and career development.

Key Responsibility Areas

  • To learn the skills required for hardware development. This includes developing practical skills in advanced design techniques for aerospace applications, understanding of key technologies, develop experience using ECAD tools and test equipment.
  • Graduates are given the opportunity to explore a number of the aspects of the development lifecycle during their time in the graduate development frame work. This includes requirements analysis and definition, hardware design, hardware implementation, hardware integration, hardware test and through life support.
  • Most training will be delivered via on the job experience work on real production hardware within projects groups delivering sensor systems to our customers.
  • Additional formal technical training to augmented the on the job training will be provided via taught courses depending on the business needs and career direction of the individual.



Skills, Qualifications & Knowledge Required

  • All our roles require predicted minimum of an upper second class honours degree in a relevant discipline i.e Electrical and Electronic engineering or a higher degree such as a MEng, MSc. or PhD.
  • You must be able to satisfy the necessary security clearance for the role applied for and meet a minimum of 5 years permanent residency in the UK.
  • Relevant industrial experience via summer industrial placements would be advantageous.
  • Candidate are required to demonstrate personal ownership and responsibility for their work, Team working skill, Technical excellence, creative problem solving ability and leadership potential.
  • Evidence of specialist knowledge and or interest in the area of Digital engineering, Firmware design engineering, hardware based signal processing.
