We are looking for a talented Procurement Contracts Specialist to join our UK team based at our Yeovil site in the South West of England. 

 

As a Procurement Contracts Specialist, your main purpose is to …

An opportunity has arisen within the Customer Support Procurement department to join a successful cross functional team delivering exemplary levels of service to the Apache Product Team.

 

Interacting with both the Supplier and Customer, you will provide value for money solutions and work in an enthusiastic Apache team supported by the greater CS&T procurement function.

 

There will be opportunities to develop in this role including enhancing your commercial and supply chain management skills. You will be able to increase your capabilities in terms of representing the Company in managing your relationship with very significant third party organisations.

 

 

Key Responsibility Areas

  • Day to day management of high value Service subcontracts with US based Apache specific suppliers to LMWL including Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Longbow International.
  • Ensure the Company and our Customer obtain value for money and the costs paid by LMWL are reasonable.
  • Building supplier relationships and develop improved approaches to the support services provided by these suppliers.
  • Deliver proactive Support to the Apache IOS Service Management Organisation.
  • Support the Material Supply Officers to ensure timely deliveries from suppliers through escalation to Suppliers' Senior Management.
  • Facilitate discussions between the supplier and LMWL related to supplier performance, technical queries, material management, and modifications
  •  Resolving issues including Export Licence, Invoice Payment, Technical Assistance Agreements (TAA), Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDA).

 

 

Skills, Qualifications & Knowledge Required

  • Experience of Procurement, either inside or outside LMWL.  If outside, ideally in the Defence/Aerospace sector but not essential.
  • Engineering experience would be an advantage, ideally within military aerospace.
  • Experience of Defence Aerospace Customer Support.
  • Experience or aptitude for contract negotiation.
  • Experience working in a team environment.
  • Capable of working with a degree of autonomy, have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  •  Computer literate (competent with SAP and other company standard software).
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent with good level of numeracy and literacy
  •  Have and maintain a valid driving licence.
  • Able & willing to travel alone or as part of a team within the UK and overseas.
